Welcome to Truth First Counselling. We offer counselling that goes beyond surface-level coping and supports individuals in creating sustainable transformation, personal freedom, and a deeper connection to their values.
We offer individualized, compassionate and honest counselling that adapts to each client's needs; meeting you with genuine care, authenticity, and thoughtful challenges so that you can develop deeper insight, move through difficult patterns, and build lasting change.
We believe that clients deserve therapy that meets them where they are while also supporting them to move forward. Our practice prioritizes compassionate honesty, individualized care, and meaningful therapeutic relationships.
Who We Work With
We work with individuals aged 15 and older who are navigating challenges such as Eating Disorders, Disordered Eating, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma and ADHD.
Many of the people who come here feel stuck in patterns that are exhausting to carry alone. They may feel overwhelmed by their thoughts, disconnected from their bodies or caught in a cycle of self- criticism, control, or anxiety with limited capacity to manage it all.
Some clients come to therapy knowing exactly what they want to work on while others simply know that something isn't working anymore and are in need of suport to figure out what the next step is.
You might be a good fit for this practice if you are someone who:
-
Feels stuck in patterns that are hard to change
-
Struggles with disordered eating or a complicated relationship with food and body
-
Experience anxiety, depression, ADHD, or emotional overwhelm
-
Struggles with perfectionism or feeling like you are never "good enough"
-
Wants a space where you can be honest about what you are going through.
This practice is built for individuals who are looking for genuine, supportive, and honest therapy.
Our work together focuses on helping you understand the deeper patterns that keep you stuck while supporting you in creating meaningful and sustainable change
You will be met with compassion, authenticity, and thoughtful challenge so you can move toward greater freedom, clarity, and connection with your values.
At Truth First Counselling, Our approach is grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens when people feel both supported and honestly challenged. Therapy is not a one- size- fits- all, so each clients experience is shaped around their unique needs, goals, and pace. We work collaboratively with you to create a space where you can explore difficult experiences, gain deeper insight into patterns that keep you stuck, and begin moving towards lasting change.
Hi, I'm Lokadia. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor. I have worked in a group private practice for four and a half years and currently work in a Private Residential Eating Disorder Treatment Center as a clinical counsellor.
I became a counsellor because I genuinely care about helping people feel less alone in the things they are carrying. Life can be complicated, and many of the struggles people face- whether that's anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, adhd or challenges with food and body- can feel isolating and overwhelming. I believe no one should have to navigate those experiences on their own
I believe that meaningful change happens within a space where you feel genuinely supported, understood, and safe to be honest about what you are going through.
My approach to therapy is grounded in authentic connection, compassion, and direct conversation. I care deeply about the people I work with and aim to create a space where you feel both supported and thoughtfully challenged. I believe that healing and growth often require us to look at patterns that feel uncomfortable or difficult, and my role is to walk alongside you through that process while helping you build insight and momentum toward change.
My role isn't to tell you who you should be or what your life should look like, but to support you in developing insight, reconnecting with your values, and creating change that feels sustainable, healing and meaningful to you.
In our work together, you can expect someone who is present, invested, and genuine. Clients often describe my style as direct, compassionate and supportive. I will meet you where you are while supporting you in moving toward where you want to be. Some days our work together may involve exploring difficult emotions or past experiences, and other days it may focus on building practical strategies to help you navigate everyday challenges. Each session is shaped around what feels most supportive and helpful for you.
I have a particular passion for working with individuals navigating eating disorders, disordered eating, body image concerns, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and perfectionism. I know that these challenges can often feel isolating and overwhelming, and many people carry them quietly for a long time before reaching out for help. I provide a space for us together to begin unpacking those experiences, to support you as you reconnect with yourself, so that together we can find new ways of moving forward.
Above all, I believe that people are capable of meaningful growth and transformation. I believe that therapy can be a place where you begin to understand yourself more deeply, challenge the patterns that no longer serve you, and start creating a life that feels more aligned with who you truly are.
